The United States Virgin Islands often referred to America's Paradise ia an American unincorporated territory in the Caribbean consisting of three islands. St. Thomas is the capital and busiest, St. Croiz is the largest and St. John is the smallest and quietest. The combined population is a little over 110,000. The official language is english. Virgin Islanders are not allowed to vote in primaries or presidential elections but there is an elected representative to congress who represents the territory in Washington since 1972. The official currency is the U.S. dollar. The territory is visited by 1.5 milion tourists per year by air and cruise ship. Atlantic Standard Time is in effect year round. The beaches are magnificent with sun and sand in abundance. Most of the population are descendants of African slaves.
On 03-31-1917, the Danish Virgin islands was bought by the United States for $25 Million. In 1927, residents were graned U.S. citizenship. The governor and legislature oversee the day-to-day operation of the islands.

St. Thomas
St. Thomas is known as the shopping mecca of the Caribbean. There is no sales tax. St. Thomas is a noted popular tourist destination. Charlotte Amalie harbor is the busiest port of call in the Caribbean. It is a cosmopolitan, sophisticated oasis, commercial center boasting of a variety of big city amenities not found anywhere else in the Caribbean with gourmet restaurants, chic shops, and major hotels. On Main Street goods are sold from all over the world at duty free prices. Visitors can claim up to $1,200 worth of goods duty free.
Attractions on St. Thomas include Scratch Band Fiesta, Open Atlantic Blue Marlin Tournament, Main Street - shop till you drop, Coral World, Magens Bay, Coki Point, Mahoghany Run Golf Course, Fort Christian Musuem, Submarine Experience, Eco-Tours, Parasailing, Sport Fishing, Lindbergh Bay, Morning Star Beach, and scenic views.

St. Croix
St. Croix is the largest of all 2 islands. It has two main towns, Christainsted, the capital and Fredericksted. Unlike St. Thomas it is leisurely, laid back, a place to unwind and recharge your batteries. It has a population of 60,000 people. St. Croix is 3 times the size of St. Thomas. The eastern tip of the island is the easternmost point of the United States St. Croix retains it's Danish character and architecture. St. Cropix is not a popular cruise destination like St. Thomas but the island has great physical beauty.
Attractions on St. Croix includes scuba diving, waterparks, kayak tours, snorkeling and day sails, golf, horseback riding, walking tours, St. Croix Heritage Trail, the Virgin Islands only casino, and St. Croix International Regatta.

St. John
St. John is a 2/3 national park, created in 1956 donated by Laurence Rockefeller. The island is great for eco and nature lovers. It retains natural beauty and is underdeveloped.
Attractions on St. John include undeground snorkel trail at Trunk Bay, guided hikes through Reef Bay, St. John Festival, St. John Blues Festval, Coral Bay Thanksgiving Regatta, Mongoose Junction, and Caneel Bay Resort.
